We are always looking for people who are passionate about providing opportunities for young people to grow in and through the arts. At Columbus Children’s Theatre, we educate and involve young people of all backgrounds in the theatre arts. We are seeking a creative and motivated Content Creator Intern to join our team for the fall semester. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student passionate about the arts and digital media to gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and marketing. The Content Creator Intern will work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute digital content that enhances the visibility and engagement of Columbus Children’s Theatre.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
POSITION: Instructor (“Teaching Artist”)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Arts Education Coordinator
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructors (Teaching Artists) work in a classroom, studio, or hands-on/lab-type setting. Must be comfortable leading a group of young people in subject matter pertaining to theatre arts (acting, movement/dance, costumes, stagecraft, theatrical design), as well as structuring a curriculum (of varying lengths) to fill classroom time in an engaging, creative, and fun way. Teaching artists will determine appropriate learning objectives in conjunction with guidance from CCT, and create their own lesson plans based on existing CCT curriculum and State/National Standards. Ideal candidates will have experience in teaching as well as within their subject area, and must be able to work with multiple age groups.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Leading classes in basic theatre curriculum in fun and engaging ways • Lesson planning • Utilizing strong and confident classroom management skills • A love for the arts and working with young people • The ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of ability/skill levels and experience • Working cooperatively with other instructors • Communicating with students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues • Advising students individually on independent projects on articulating and accomplishing learning goals • Maintaining a positive and nurturing classroom environment
QUALIFICATIONS • Progress toward or existing Bachelor’s degree or certification in early childhood education, education, fine arts, or performing arts • Professional experience working with children at the elementary and/or secondary school level • Passion for arts education • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to think creatively • Strong problem solving skills

POSITION: Learning Support Staff (“Adventure Guide”)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Arts Education Coordinator
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Support Staff (Adventure Guides) assist instructors in a classroom, studio, or hands-on/lab-type setting. Support staff will lead theatre and improv games as scheduled activities, and will assist with movement of students throughout the building. Ideal candidates will have experience in working with young people, and must be able to work with multiple age groups. Support staff will assist the instructors and Arts Education Coordinator with administrative duties, such as daily check-in and pick up procedures, taking class attendance, assisting with behavior issues as they arise, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Assisting instructors with activities and direct instruction during classes • Providing support for students throughout the day • Utilizing strong and confident classroom management skills • A love for the arts and working with young people • Communicating with students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues • Maintaining a positive and nurturing classroom environment

CCT Internships collaborate with the professional staff in the day-to-day operation of a creative and unique non-profit arts organization. By joining the CCT family you will gain first-hand experience in your chosen field, observe the fast-paced world of arts administration in action, and develop skills for a career in the theatre industry.
