CCT Academy Policies

Academy Policies

Registration Process

Class registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration closes at 5pm 3 days before the first class. This allows our teaching artists time to plan, and to gather supplies. Any registrations received after this time will not be accepted. Class instructors are unable to admit students who have not registered in advance. Full payment by check or credit card is required to secure space in a class. There is a $2.50 processing fee for each class.sd

Delivery and Confirmation

All registrations, whether submitted by mail, phone or online form, will receive electronic confirmation via email. Email will be the primary form of communication regarding academy classes.

Financial Assistance

Generous donors from the community support Columbus Children’s Theatre’s scholarship program through donations to CCT. Scholarships are awarded based on availability and to students who can demonstrate financial need. Financial aid applications must be on file three weeks before the first day of class. Please visit “Financial Assistance” to the left.

Cancellation

If you cancel your registration at least five business days before the class begins, we will refund your tuition in the form of a credit certificate (less a $25 cancellation penalty). The credit certificate may be used for future class tuition only. If you cancel with less than five days notice, or after a class has begun, no refund will be given. All classes require a minimum number of students in order to run. CCT reserves the right to cancel classes with low enrollment. If CCT cancels a class, a full cash refund will be issued.

Weather Policy

Classes are only canceled in the event of a level 3 Snow Emergency in Franklin County, or if the teaching artist is unable to safely get to the location. If a class is canceled due to inclement weather, registered students and parents will be notified by email no later than 90 minutes prior to class time. No refunds or rescheduled class time will occur due to weather.

Pick up and drop off

Teaching artists will arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to class start time. Students will not be permitted to enter the building or classroom space more than 15 minutes prior to class start time. For the safety of our students, parents are asked to drop off and pick up students by coming in with them or remaining in plain sight until the student is with teaching artist or parent. Students must be picked up at the conclusion of class. Late pick-ups will result in a fee.

Student Behavior

CCT has zero tolerance for bullying or disruptive behavior. In the event such a thing should occur, parent or guardian will be notified immediately and mutually agreed upon corrective action will be taken. A second occurrence will result in dismissal from class without refund.
