Year-Round APA

Step in the Spotlight

Let CCT help you with our Year-Round Advanced Performance Academy. Our program will refine your natural talents and fuel your passion so that your dreams can become a reality.

We provide a rigorous theatrical preparation for post-secondary training in acting and musical theatre and to be the premier theatre arts training program for middle and high school students in central-Ohio.

Students study acting and dance for 9 months. In addition, electives will be offered. Students receive priority consideration for roles in CCT’s mainstage productions and will have exclusive auditioning privilege at Short North Stage for age-appropriate roles.

Students are divided into two groups based on skill level. For each group, the year will incorporate audition technique, solo performance, scene study, script analysis, voice and breath, and movement.

At the beginning of the program, students will have a placement audition to determine which of two levels of dance they will be enrolled. All students will take ballet, regardless of interest in acting or musical theatre. Jazz and tap will also be part of the curriculum that is being designed specifically for Advanced Performance Academy by Maria Tonja, Academy Director of BalletMet.

Students entering grades 6-12 are welcome to audition!
